A culmp forming perennial traditionally used in Asian cuisine.  Lemongrass is a graceful plant with cane like stemes slender, arching green leaves and a strong citrus aroma. A fast-growing herb which  thrives in warm, sunny conditions and well-drained soil.

 

When to Sow: Jan - April


HOW TO SOW LEMONGRASS :
In Pots  -  Sow a spinkle of seeds onto moist compost and cover with vermiculite. Place under a humidity cover or zip lock bag to keep moist. Ideal temp 25°C . Themperature must remain constant and if they get too hot the seeds will enter dormancy.


Transplant when large enough to handle and grow on in a greenhouse or coldframe until all risk of frost has passed. Can be planted out during the summer but will need lifting before winter.
