A golden  beetroot with smooth skin and sweet, earthy flavour. Bright yellow flesh adds colour to salads and roasts without staining.

 

When to sow: Mar–Jul

 

HOW TO SOW BEETROOT:
Sow Direct : Sow thinly in rows 30 cm apart. Cover lightly with soil and water gently. Thin seedlings to 10 cm apart once true leaves appear.

 

 Or sow 2 seeds into cell trays, removing the smallest after germination, grow on and transplant out when seedlings have filled the cell but before becoming root bound to minimise root disturbance.

  • Care: Keep soil evenly moist to prevent woody roots. Feed every 3–4 weeks with a balanced fertiliser. Remove weeds carefully to avoid root disturbance.
  • Use: Fresh eating, roasting, pickling, and salads. Both roots and leaves are edible.

 

  • Harvest: Lift roots when 5–7 cm across for best flavour. Twist off foliage rather than cutting to prevent bleeding.
  • Days to Maturity:  55–65 days
