Amazing Grey (Papaver rhoeas) is the showstopper of the Shirley poppy world — tissue-thin petals in smoky lavender-grey, silver, and storm-cloud slate, sometimes with soft blush or white edges. Each bloom is completely unique, with a moody, painterly quality that floral designers adore. Perfect for softening arrangements or planting en masse for a drift of ethereal colour.

Autumn-sown plants will reach slightly taller heights and flower earlier than spring sowings.

When to Sow: Aug/ Sep & Mar-May

HOW TO SOW AMAZING GREY POPPIES:
Best sowed direct in Autumn or Spring into moist well-drained soil, keep well watered until plants are well established. Thin resultings seedlings. Can be sowed in to pots but they dislike root disturbance so should be sowed thinly so pricking out is not necessary.
