Cosmos 'Antiquity' is grown for its extraordinary colour rather than its height. Each bloom opens in soft apricot-pink before deepening through antique rose and rich raspberry tones, creating a constantly changing display throughout the season.
 
Growing to around 45–60cm, this is one of the most compact Cosmos bipinnatus varieties, making it ideal for borders, containers and smaller gardens where taller cosmos would become too large.
Like all cosmos, it is easy to grow from seed and flowers continuously from midsummer until the first frosts when picked or deadheaded regularly. Its open flowers are also popular with bees and other pollinating insects.
 
If you're looking for long florist stems, there are taller cosmos varieties better suited to cutting. But if your priority is exceptional colour and a compact plant that flowers for months, 'Antiquity' is difficult to beat.

HOW TO SOW COSMOS :Sow indoors in Spring into trays of moist compost. Cover lightly with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 21°C. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grown on under glass. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
