Sweet Pea ‘Cupid Pink’ is a wonderfully compact dwarf variety, producing beautifully fragrant rose-pink and white bicoloured flowers above fresh green foliage. Unlike traditional climbing sweet peas, its naturally bushy, gently trailing habit needs little or no support, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens.

Growing to approximately 20–30 cm tall, Lathyrus odoratus ‘Cupid Pink’ is perfect for patio pots, window boxes, hanging baskets and the front of sunny borders. Keep the plants well watered and remove faded flowers regularly to encourage a generous display throughout the summer. The scented blooms are also attractive to pollinating insects and can be picked for delicate posies and small arrangements.

NOTE: SWEETPEAS ARE POISONOUS IF INGESTED

When to Sow: Oct- Apr

HOW TO SOW SWEET PEAS:

Sow Indoors

Sow seeds approximately 1–2 cm deep into moist, free-draining seed compost. For container displays, sow two seeds together in a deep pot or module. Keep at 15–20°C until germination.

Once germinated, move seedlings into cooler, bright conditions. Autumn-sown plants can be overwintered in a cold frame, unheated greenhouse or other cool, sheltered position. Harden plants off before planting outside during a mild spell in spring.

Sow Direct

Sow directly outside from March–April, approximately 2 cm deep, into prepared, well-drained soil. Keep moist during germination and thin seedlings to their final spacing.

‘Cupid Pink’ has a compact, bushy and gently trailing habit, so it does not require a traditional climbing frame. A little discreet support may be helpful in exposed positions or after heavy rain.
