Primula capitata ‘Salvana’ is an unusual hardy perennial producing dense, flattened clusters of rich violet-blue flowers on elegant, silvery-white stems. The flower heads have a distinctive powdery appearance, rising above compact rosettes of soft grey-green foliage to create a beautiful contrast of colour and texture.
A charming Himalayan primula, perfect for moist borders, woodland gardens, rock gardens and containers. It thrives in partial shade and humus-rich, moisture-retentive soil, flowering generously throughout summer.

HOW TO SOW
Mix the tiny seeds with very fine sand or talcum powder to help distribute them evenly. Surface sow onto moist seed compost, without covering. Ideal temp. 20°C. Keep consistently moist but not waterlogged, watering from below or with a fine mist. Germination can be slow and irregular. Once seedlings emerge, move to cooler, bright conditions and transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle
