Salpiglossis is a striking half hardy annual producing velvety trumpet-shaped flowers intricately marbled and veined in glowing shades of crimson, purple, bronze, yellow and cream. Long flowering and highly ornamental, it adds dramatic colour and texture to borders, containers and cutting gardens throughout summer.
When to Sow: Jan-Apr
HOW TO SOW: Sow seeds onto moist well-drained compost and lightly press into the surface without excluding light. Propagate at 18-21°C and maintain light moisture during germination. Transplant seedlings carefully once large enough to handle and plant out after the danger of frost has passed.
